Shane Reginald O'Garro

Executive Pastor
Meet Shane O’Garro, a Boston native who now calls San Diego home. Known for his unapologetic honesty and straightforward approach, Shane has always been one to express his thoughts openly. At the young age of 17, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, starting his first business, and by 22, he had already released his debut book.

However, at the age of 30, Shane's life took a significant turn during an unexpected prayer meeting. Despite initial reluctance to attend, he found himself standing by a wall, opening the Bible. In that moment, he experienced a profound encounter, hearing a calling from God that led him to kneel and dedicate his life to Christ. Nearly a decade later, a divine revelation prompted him to move to San Diego and establish The Church of Salvation.

Through The Church, Shane pioneered the impactful outreach program titled "For I Was," dedicated to assisting homeless individuals. This initiative successfully helped 53 homeless people secure both temporary and permanent housing, ultimately leading to the establishment of the Homeless Information Team (H.I.T.) Squad. In the homeless outreach community, Shane is widely recognized and respected for his vocal advocacy on this pressing issue.

Beyond his work with The Church, Shane is an active member of the Mira Mesa Town Council, striving to ensure that the city's endeavors positively impact the local Mira Mesa community. Serving as a crucial liaison between city officials and the community, his efforts primarily revolve around aiding the homeless population in the area and introducing new opportunities to enhance the community's experiences.

In his most recent accomplishment, Shane has taken on a pivotal role on the Board of Directors for the Uptown Community Center. Leveraging his expertise across multiple domains, he is playing a crucial role in shaping the future trajectory of the organization, envisioning it as a powerful force for the days to come.
